How often does the auto-empty base need emptying?

The 4L dust bag provides up to 120 days of hands-free operation for average-sized homes. The actual duration depends on your home size, pet hair levels and cleaning frequency. Homes with multiple pets or high-traffic areas may need emptying every 60-90 days, whilst smaller homes with minimal debris could extend beyond 120 days. The app will notify you when the bag is full.

Can the D20 Air Plus clean different floor types effectively?

Yes, the 20,000Pa suction automatically adjusts between carpet and hard floors. On carpets, it increases suction to extract embedded dirt and pet hair from fibres. On hard floors, it reduces suction to prevent debris scattering whilst the mop function simultaneously cleans with adjustable water flow. The LiDAR navigation recognises floor type changes and adapts cleaning accordingly.

How does the anti-tangle technology work with pet hair?

The main brush features self-cleaning bristles that actively remove hair as it rotates, preventing the typical hair wrap-around that clogs standard brushes. The side brush uses a curved design that guides hair towards the suction inlet rather than allowing it to wind around the brush arms. This reduces maintenance from weekly brush cleaning to monthly checks, even in homes with long-haired pets.

What happens if the robot gets stuck or encounters obstacles?

The LiDAR navigation system maps obstacles in real-time and plans routes around furniture, cables and other items. If the robot does encounter an unexpected obstacle, it backs away and finds an alternative path. The app sends notifications if the robot becomes stuck and it will automatically return to the charging dock if it cannot complete its cleaning cycle.

How long does the battery last and what area can it cover?

The lithium-ion battery provides 180 minutes of continuous cleaning, covering approximately 200-250 square metres on a single charge. When the battery drops to 20%, the robot automatically returns to the dock, recharges and resumes cleaning from where it left off. This recharge-and-resume feature ensures complete coverage of larger homes without manual intervention.

Is the mopping function suitable for all hard floor types?

The electronic water tank with adjustable flow works effectively on sealed hard floors including laminate, tile, vinyl and sealed hardwood. You can adjust water flow from light dampening for daily maintenance to higher flow for sticky spills and stains. The system avoids carpets and rugs automatically. Unsealed wood floors should be avoided as excess moisture could cause damage.

How accurate is the mapping and can I set no-go zones?

The LiDAR system creates millimetre-precise maps on the first cleaning run, accurately identifying room boundaries, furniture placement and floor layout. Through the app, you can set virtual walls, no-go zones around pet bowls or delicate items and schedule specific rooms for cleaning. The maps are saved permanently and updated if you move furniture or make layout changes.

What maintenance is required and how often?

Monthly maintenance includes emptying the water tank, checking the mop pad condition and inspecting the anti-tangle brushes. The dust bag in the auto-empty base needs replacing every 2-4 months depending on usage. The main filter should be cleaned monthly and replaced every 6 months. The LiDAR sensor requires occasional cleaning with a soft cloth to maintain navigation accuracy.
